Cardan turning grille. A 4×4 card with four holes — one per row and column. Lay it on the square, write through the holes in row-major order, turn 90° clockwise, repeat four times. The four orientations never collide and cover all sixteen cells.
Holes before any turn (row, column; 1-indexed): (1,1), (2,2), (3,4), (4,3)
Filled grid:

C S N H
H A T O
H W I T
X E C P
Read with the same grille and turns. Trailing X is padding. Restore spaces for the answer.
