FromSoftware and Bandai Namco put Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 on 28 August. It is the first time the Lands Between has sat on a Nintendo machine.

The edition holds the 2022 game, the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, two new starting classes, four armour sets, and three skins for Torrent. That is the shelf. Nintendo's European store lists the Switch 2 date as 28 August 2026. GamingTrend reported the street date that morning at 9:23 a.m. Bandai Namco Europe, the same day, priced the Tarnished Pack for every other platform at €4.99.

Elden Ring shipped in February 2022 on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Shadow of the Erdtree followed. For four years a Nintendo household could not take the walk. 28 August ended that. Bandai's launch note said the original, which took more than 400 Game of the Year nominations, sits on Switch 2 with the expansion in the same package, docked or handheld. Nintendo UK's page says the original sold more than 30 million copies. FromSoftware Inc. and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. are the named companies. Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R.R. Martin are named on the world.

Bandai Namco Europe dated the promise on 4 June 2026: from 28 August, the Lands Between and the Realm of Shadow on Switch 2, with the new content also for sale on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Three months sat between that dated promise and Thursday morning. Thursday arrived on time. A compilation that hits its month is logistics. This one did.

The new classes have names: Heavy Knight and Idus Knight. There are four new armour sets, two of them the starting kits, and three appearance options for Torrent, the first time the horse has been a cosmetic. That pack is on the Switch 2 edition and, the same Thursday, on the stores that already had the game. Bandai's how-to note on 28 August listed the Tarnished Pack for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and digital PC via Steam, at €4.99, with local currency able to move the number. Players who already bought the 2022 game can take the new objects without buying the whole edition again. A collection that forces a second full purchase is a box set. A pack at five euros is a courtesy to the houses that already paid for the Lands Between in 2022.

Shadow of the Erdtree is in the Switch 2 edition, not a sticker on the spine. Bandai described it as an epic new adventure expanding the original: the Realm of Shadow, in the footsteps of Miquella. A Tarnished Edition that omitted it would have been the 2022 game with a new logo. This one is the original walk and the second walk, on a handheld. On a train, that is two kingdoms in one machine.

Bandai also posted a Tarnished Edition starter-guide video the same morning. The publisher treated Thursday as a ship day, not a teaser day. This report will not reprint a boss list, and it will not invent a frame rate from a dock that has not been metered. A 2022 open world does not become a different game because the plastic changed. The plastic changed, and this is the first Nintendo plastic the game has known, dated 28 August 2026.

A Switch 2 in the house is already a machine for other nights. Zelda has been on Nintendo for decades. FromSoftware's games were not. Thursday morning they shared a machine. You can stand in front of a television. You can sit with the Erdtree in your hands. That is what a handheld version is for. Torrent, in the launch art, has no rider. The point of a handheld is that the rider can be in the next room.

The Tarnished Pack is the other receipt. People who finished the game in 2022 do not need a second full-price copy. They need a reason to make another character on a Thursday. Two classes, four armours, three horses, five euros. Bandai wrote that as a shop sentence. Patch notes can wait. The date does not: 28 August is the date on Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam for the new objects.

Eighteen-month live-service calendars have trained people to wait for a season. Elden Ring is not a season. It is a complete object that got a new door. The door is Nintendo. The expansion is in the hall. The horse has a new coat if a player wants one. Miyazaki's studio built a world that looks expensive in stills: a gold tree, charcoal ruin, fog in the valley. Martin's names sit on the myth. None of that required a new platform. The new platform is the change that matters for a household that only has Nintendo, and for anyone who wants the walk on a train. A child who only has the Nintendo can now take the walk. An adult who takes the train can take the walk. That is a census change, not a texture pack.

Thirty million is Nintendo UK's figure for the original, not a stock tip. Four hundred Game of the Year nominations is Bandai's figure for why the cart was worth carrying. This is a shipping report, not an awards roundup. The awards already happened in 2022. The shipping happened on Thursday.

The news is a platform, not a rumour. The Lands Between has been a PlayStation, Xbox and PC object since 2022. Thursday made it a Nintendo object as well, with the expansion in the same cart, and with the Tarnished Pack on sale the same morning for anyone who already owned the map.

The shared date is 28 August 2026. Switch 2 gets the full Tarnished Edition. The other machines get the Tarnished Pack at €4.99. Heavy Knight, Idus Knight, four sets, three Torrents, and Shadow of the Erdtree in the same Nintendo envelope as the 30-million-copy original. That is the list that shipped.
